Some Common Questions that pop up
How do I book a photo session with you?
The easiest way is to jump in and look at the calendar or just sent me a note via my contact page. More than happy for you to come into the studio to see the space and we can chat about what you have in mind and setup your session..
If all else fails, or you wan to chat just give me a call during business hours ideally on 0428 859 760
(outside Australia +61428859760)
How long does it take to receive the final photos?
Once you have picked your favourite images to be edited, it will be normally within a business week, but I'll let you know if ready earlier.
From the final gallery, digital photos are ready if seen. You can also order online prints, once you pick the type of print, frames etc, my print house will prepare and send them within 10 business days.
If you have selected a package, prints or collages, albums etc these are ordered and shipped either to studio or direct to you. This should take up to 14 days dependant on the package once ordered.
Can I order prints or albums through you?
Yes you can. Simple photo prints or fully completed artwork can be ordered directly from your gallery. Albums need to be designed then ordered so they can take a little longer once the layout has been agreed too.
This is my first photo session, what happens?
First off, this is supposed to be a fun experience. Ask questions, arrange a time to visit the studio if we are shooting here. Lets have a pre-shoot call or meeting so your comfortable.
Like most things, if you haven't done it before you might be a little unsure, but if you've been in any photos before, the basics are the same. It just a photo in general so nothing to worry about. We don't bite, have fun, enjoy it, but that's about it.
What Should I Wear
Well, all depends on the style or genre of the shoot.
If headshots or portraits, normally solid colours, but we'll chat about it in the pre-shoot call or meeting. Unusual colours, high detailed designs or tending things can sometimes not age well. But if they are part of the look, go for it.
Shoot Safety, Safety on Set
I hold a current and valid WWC (Working with Children Card - Victoria) which is similar to the NSW Blue Card and similar schemes in other states.
When youth (<18yo) are involved, the basic requirement is for all team members/partners to hold this check.
The WWC (or similar) involves a police and criminal check having been undertaken to ensure the individual is suitable to work with younger members of the public.
In addition to this, with youth participants we require that a parent or legal guardian be present for the entire time they are on site or when working with David Eades Photography in studio or onsite, this applies to any service partner working with the youth. This is to ensure the safety and security of everyone on site, the youth together with all other parties involved in the shoot or session.
Those over 18 years are welcome to have a friend or acquittance come along as well, they are not required however some people may want it. That person hopefully should also be available to assist where needed in the session or shoot to hold, move gear and provide general support to the model and team.
If you have never been to a photoshoot before, I recommend you research 'modelling 101' as a topic online. I'm also more than happy to go through this with you prior to the photoshoot. Basically, its all about you having control in a photoshoot from the perspective of your personal comfort and safety. There are details and information put out by the industry, models etc and I suggest that you have a look at a few sources or just ask before we start a shoot and we can chat through this before we move to the release of agreement prior to the photo session. My goal is for you to really enjoy the photography experience, have confidence in your personal space and the work we will be doing together. I want all parts of out interaction to be enjoyable, fun and memorable for you do you're happy to arrange another session or recommend us to your friends and family.
I have my own photos, but would like to have them edited. Can you just do that?
I can provide an editing service on a per image basis. Editing can range from the simple to more in-depth skin, background etc and time consuming work, depending on your requirement and the original image.
Please remember, the quality of the output is highly dependant on the source image/file type, image size and depth. If you only have a damaged photo, or small JPG (JPEG) type file, the embedded image data/depth unfortunately does not exist, things can be done, but that file type compresses the image. RAW images files out of the camera, DNG or TIF files aften has a ton more file data which will give a better result. I don't want to set a false expectation, so please contact me, we can the look at the image/s you want worked on, look at your requirements and talk through the outcome you can expect.
Do you take commissions or assignments?
Yes, I do. More than happy to talk to you about your requirements.
Please have an idea of context/scope, timelines (stage outputs or end dates), location, general ideas and use of the work and lets talk.
If this is a commercial commission, images for use on the internet, advertising, point of sales / catalogue, television or any form of advertising then a licencing agreement will be provided for that use or term of use. Copyright or copyright ownership is not transferred and remain with the photographer unless this released in the agreement.
Can I buy any of the portfolio or gallery photos on this site?
There is a large selection of photographs in the Print Sales galleries you can choose from. The Client Galleries and portfolios\photographs are not available as they are mainly covered by non-commercial private licence or are client images used in the portfolio.
The Print Sale gallery images are all available to download as personal use only, you can purchase the artwork online in that gallery. Just add any images you like to the shopping cart using icon below the photo, select the desired print type, size, framing you like and then checkout or continue shopping to add to your collection. When you have everything you would like, you can complete the order and our professional print-house will produce your artwork and post this out to you directly.
If you are seeking to commercialise, reuse, or seeking a commercial use licence or release, reach out ot me to discuss terms.
Client galleries, how can I get access to them?
Only the individual clients can access their galleries. If you are a friend, a family member of the client, you can contact them and ask them to give you the access code.
Unfortunately David Eades Photography cannot provide you with access to individual client galleries the agreed images rights belong to the individual clients.
Can I arrange to use some of these photographs or buy the copyright of an image/s?
There are always possibilities. Copyright is not transferable and retained by the photographer in most cases, however a usage license for use, advertising, reproduction etc could be available, please contact David Eades Photography to discuss further.
What sort of photography do you do?
Simply put, my genre is people.
There are 2-3 main parts to the business that being:
David Eades Photography - where we specialise in Portraiture, Beauty, Fashion, Creative, Maternity, Event photo shoots on location, in studio or a mixture of both. This includes couples, family and significant events requests. We strive to capture your precious moments through beautiful and authentic photography or video.
Creative Work - this is where is gets interesting. Creative Photography can be themed, conceptual, off the wall, stylised. This is often personal work or assignments where the time to create the look is planned and often detailed or takes time to create. The exciting times is when a a creative concept is included in portrait, fine art, boudoir or other works and the individuals bring their ideas, dreams and visions to the party to create a piece of work they have been imagining or dreaming of.
So yes, I would to love to talk with you about your ideas and photo shoot requirements. Let me know what you are looking for or an idea you have, timelines, location and lets talk
And
ArtDoir - the focus here is in two parts
1/ empowerment and inner beauty through boudoir photography on location or in the studio.
2/ Fine Art and Art Nude concepts to meet your story and create the work you desire.
